Muziekgieterij is a live-music club in an old factory building, dating back to Maastricht’s rich history as a ceramic manufacturing place. The factory building hosts as well a large exhibition hall that is regularly used for art and science exhibitions.
Doors will open at 6 pm. Entrance is free for all conference participants. Food will be served at affordable prices (Burger, Vegetarian Burger, Curry Sausage, Chicken Tandoori, Vegetarian Frittata). At the entrance, every conference participant will get 5 drink / food vouchers. Further vouchers can be purchased at the site (Note: cash only, no credit cards accepted). “The feathers on the cover of their first EP may suggest that the Amsterdam, self-expressed nu-punk band Indian Askin might sound a lot less shabby than they actually do, but the pulsing bass on successful single Answer tells a different story. It’s one that leads from a sea of ethanol, to Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and sold out shows at the 2016 Eurosonic Noorderslag showcase festival in Groningen. Their motto ‘We shall go on playing, or find a new town’ isn’t just one the band members’ tattoos, it’s also translated into their polished rock songs that add a little whiff of psychedelics. There is a reason this band was just selected as Serious Talent for Holland’s biggest alternative radio station.”
Find Us In Slumberland is a four-piece band from Utrecht which originated from singer-songwriter duo Nachtwakers, consisting of Sophia Keck and Robin de Geus. With strong melodies, soothing harmonies and a dynamic and comprehensive sound Find Us In Slumberland takes you on a trip through their world in between dreams and reality. Find Us In Slumberland's sound tends to make one think of bands such as Bon Iver, Sigur Ros and Patrick Watson and although their music is difficult to describe in one word; dream pop would be the most applicable term.
Early 2015 Find Us In Slumberland released their first single Charlie, 9 months later Find Us In Slumberland released their self-titled debut EP. 3voor12 called the EP ‘An otherworldly, soft utopia, that can turn into a storm in a minute’. "During their club shows (i.e. Paradiso, Tivoli De Helling and the EKKO) and intimate living room concerts they have taken away many listeners into the world of Find Us In Slumberland.
