The research covers principal areas of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics, such as sensing, analyzing, modeling and predicting biological and medical phenomena.<br \/>\nThe research group concentrates on three main research themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complex Systems and Mathematical Systems Theory<\/li>\n<li>Signal processing and image processing<\/li>\n<li>Statistical data analysis, data science and data mining, with emphasis on Machine Learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These themes are applied in cardiology, electrophysiology, the modeling of gene protein networks, and neurosciences, in close collaboration with outstanding biological and medical scientists in Europe and the USA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The BioMathematics and BioInformatics research group (BMI) conducts theoretical and applied research in Computational and Mathematical Sciences with a special focus on Biological and Medical applications.
